Stone Age

The Stone Age
In the Paleolithic period (roughly 2.5 million years ago to 10,000 B.C.), early humans lived in caves or simple huts or tepees and were hunters and gatherers. They used basic stone and bone tools, as well as crude stone axes, for hunting birds and wild animals

In this area it is likely that this era was spent mostly covered in ice.
and the last Ice Lomond ice age will have destroyed any evidence of the human and natural activity of this time.

Our story really begins with the Mesolithic era after the retreat of the last ice 8,000 BC
