St Conan's Kirk

For part of the life of Ardchattan Parish it extended to Lochawe.
This includes the unique Kirk on the shores, that we all drive past.
St Conan's Kirk was built in the latter part of the 1800's as a chapel of ease for Walter Campbell's family.
It was not completed until the 1930's with an amazing intricacy of styles from early celtic influences into the modern era.
It is visited by thousands of tourists a year, run by a private trust, with no outside funding.

The Trust has an ambitious plan afoot to fulfill the urgent needs of the structure and the visitor to make necessary repairs and to create a far better interpretation facility.
