Queens Bridge, Burn and Brae
t.jpg

At the junction of the Moss road to the North Connel road running along the side of Loch Etive is a short dip and then bend.
This is known as Queens Brae .. named for Sarah McKillop who lived in the lower corner of this road for 50 years. She was known as the Queen of Benderloch and captured in this remarkable image.
The Burn and Bridge close by are also similarly named.
And older locals remember the name being even more personal .. known as Sallys Bridge, Burn and Brae.
The "Queen" also had a SEAT .. further up along the Moss road - a large low branch where she was known to sit and be such an integral part of the community. She was regarded as a wise woman, likely someone who was very observant, knew everyone's business, a friend and counsel to many. The image shows she was certainly a fine looking lady.
