Mesolithic

As the last UK ice retreated from our local glens, the naturalisation took place rapidly.
Post glacial environments are nutrient rich, and the seas, land and air were full of seeds, and species from the recovering ecology elsewhere.
It will be interesting to study papers on this regeneration
and will share links as they are found.

The evidence of Mesolithic communities are scant but building up to give a picture to show how the communities lived.

Youtube on Living in the Mesolithic Living in the Mesolithic is a fascinating talk by Mesolithic specialist Caroline Wickham-Jones. How and where did people live in Mesolithic Scotland, what did they leave behind and what might we find if soil conditions are suitable.
