MacMhuirrich is Gaelic for son of Muiredach.
Muiredach O’Daly was an Irish poet who came across to Scotland and became the bard to the MacDonalds of Clanranald.
He founded the McMhuirrichs which was later anglicised to Currie.
McMhuirich or McVurich was also anglicised to Currie
Currie is also a sept of clan McPherson, so there must be a link between the two.
