Hill fort overlooking Loch Linnhe beyond Balure, Lochnell
Mentioned in Donald Blacks account of his grandmother Mary MacDonald Lismore beckoning a boat from Lismore to pick her up after her years working at Achnacree
( Domhnall MacIlleDhuibh. (2006). A Tale or Two from Lismore. Glasgow: The University of Strathclyde. Page 19-20. )
Interesting to read this - Ardentinny certainly looks like a strong contender for a connection between Lismore and the mainland. It is identified as an important dwelling on the Roy map when most of the area is not marked. There is a deep ravine to bring a boat into, as well as a good area to corral livestock to be gathered before the twice yearly cattle sales at South Shian.
