Ardchattan Parish Archive is a community local history group.
There is plenty for volunteers to get involved with if you would like to participate.
Random list of help needed
- expertise in mapping and GIS to collate and interpret information about our parish - eg sorting out the archaeology from multiple sources on to one map, and thence into date/era layers
- expertise and time in the family trees and genealogical records - we have a collaborative Ancestry site https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/tree/108770421/family
- expertise in Linux on computer to enable an installation of ATOM Archive cataloguing software https://www.accesstomemory.org .. and also photo software like https://www.damonlynch.net/rapid/
- expertise in online galleries to enable us to share the digital images we hold to the wider global audience.
- time to manage and run the organisational parts of the group.
- time to organise talks and walks around the parish to increase our knowledge and understanding.
- time to organise transcriptions of the records, with volunteers around the globe
