Crofting township along the north shore of Loch Etive between North Connel and Achnacree. Originally part of the Campbell of Lochnell Estate.

When was it originally formed as a crofting township?

  • Smith recorded in the 1870s that the crofts have only lately been built along the road, they were put up by General cAmpbell of Lochnell some forty years ago or so, that he might always have people to help him with his carriage across the ferry at Connel.

However Langlands map of 1801 shows some crofts.. so Smith may be mis informed.
