Achnacree More

Achnacree More has been a single large farm in the past, then was quite a lot of smaller crofts, and now back to being a single farm again. (when were the changes)

A family story can come from many different places - here is one from a selection of letters involving Inveraray Courts, that were sold on Ebay.
An illegitimate child, Archibald Kennedy, born to Jane Kennedy, of Achnacreemore on 6 May 1883.
The father was possibly Dugald Boyd of Achnacone, Appin. (his father being Malcolm)
(child subsequently brought up by Angus Kennedy and his wife, Catherine, need Sinclair)
The letters include notices to appear before Inveraray Courts, petitions for the Poor Roll, exchanges between the "parents" and various other people, certificate of poverty by the local minister, evidence for the court hearing. What a heart tugging collection.
